Product detailed description

Tanto TAIGA, carbon steel blade AISI 1045

.

Forged Japanese knife TANTO with polished imitation hardening (hamon). Sharp (sharpened) knife TANTO will find its application as a decoration, but also for active martial arts training. Tanto is not entirely suitable for cutting harder matrerial. The steel is not partially hardened (hamon is only polished) and therefore has a low degree of hardness. Chopping hard materials would leave marks on the blade. The attractive and sharp blade, the black glossy decorated saya plus the tsuka (handle) which is covered with genuine stingray leather, all make this tanto interesting. The stand is not included in this tanto. Tanto is stored in a black canvas bag. Tanto is always carefully inspected and packaged before shipment to ensure it is delivered to your complete satisfaction. Dellinger disclaims any liability for injury or damage resulting from use. Keep tanto out of reach of children ! Any handling of the samurai knife is your own responsibility. Remember, you have a deadly weapon in your hands!

.

Kforged blade made of steel AISI 1045 of the highest quality. The blade is in Maru configuration, i.e. forged from one compact bar of steel. AISI 1045carbon steel is a very popular steel used in the manufacture of katana, sword and knife blades. The production of this blade goes through several polishing and sharpening processes the surface of the blade shows a high gloss.

.

Tanto 短刀 is a Japanese knife carried by a samurai along with wakizashi a katana in what's called a daishō set. The length of the blade should not exceed 30.3 cm. Knife tanto bwas designed to penetrate armor and protection of all kinds. The tanto blade is similar to the style of Japanese long (katana) and short (wakizashi) swords. The Tanto knife has a high blade with a flat grind, resulting in extremely strong penetration, making it ideal for stabbing into hard materials. This "dagger" could also be carried by the common people for their defence. Only a samurai was allowed to carry a katana or wakizashi. If a samurai had to commit ritual suicide by seppuku, he used a wakizashi short sword, while a woman used a tanto dagger in most cases.
