The blade is made of Damascus carbon steel and reaches a hardness of around 60 HRC. Toughness and wear resistance are a given with this model. Since Damascus carbon steel is not stainless, it requires regular maintenance (oiling and keeping dry) to minimize the risk of oxidation.
