Fixed blade knives
The Samurai Tantō knife has a rich history and is inspired by an ancient Japanese weapon. Its blade is slightly curved and the tip of the blade has a typical curved or square shape. Tantō blades are found not only in combat knives, but also in army knives, rescue knives and most modern pocket knives.
Hunting knife Tantó
The Tantó hunting knife is extremely robust and reliable. It has a very durable and solid Full Tang construction, which gives it a huge resistance to possible damage. The inner monolith is precisely manufactured from high quality stainless steel type 440. The meticulously crafted Tantó barrel is incredibly sharp.
Japanese Tantō knife
The Japanese Tantō is a 15 to 30 centimetre long dagger carried by samurai along with the wakizashi and katana (daishō). It is generally considered that a Japanese sword up to 1 foot (about 30 cm) in length is a Tantō. The range between 1 and 2 feet covers the wakizashi and from 60 cm in length upwards it is a long sword tachi or katana.
Modern Tantó knives
Modern Tantó knives have a wide, strong, sharp blade made of high quality steels. They are often made of stainless steel and the surface may be coated with titanium. These weapons require regular cleaning and maintenance. The tip of the Tantó is very robust and is therefore particularly suitable for piercing rigid materials. The handle can be made of rubber, steel, aluminium or hardwood. Knives with Tantó blades are usually very practical and multifunctional.
