AISI 1045 Steel
AISI 1045 steel is a type of carbon steel that contains approximately 0.45% carbon by weight. It is a medium to hard steel that is often used for making tools, machine parts and blades, including Japanese swords such as katanas and knives tanto. AISI 1045 steel is popular for its high strength, hardness and wear resistance. In addition, it is also relatively easy to process and weld. AISI 1045 steel comes in a variety of forms, including sheet, bar and tube, and is commonly available in the metal materials market.
It rusts very easily and needs constant maintenance (cleaning and rubbing with mineral oil)
