Product detailed description

Collectible katana Tekehiko, AISI 1045 steel, nagasa 2.26 Shaku

The forged sharp sword Tekehiko is designed for collectors and students looking for a visually interesting tool for practicing forms. The blade is made of AISI 1045 carbon steel and is equipped with a Bo-Higroove. When performed technically correctly, it creates a sound effect called "sword wind" (tachi kaze), which allows the practitioner to verify the correctness of the trajectory of the cut. The blade surface is decorated with a polished imitation of a hardening line (hamon) and a traditionally shaped tip Chu-kissaki.

The Tekehiko model impresses with its rich decoration. The Tsuba (guard) is made of brass and features detailed motifs on both sides. Beneath the wine-colored handle wrap (Ito) is genuine stingray leather. The blade is securely fastened in the handle with two bamboo pegs (mekugi). Due to its hardness of 48 HRC, this sword is primarily intended as a decoration or for practicing movements, not for cutting hard materials. A fabric bag is included in the package.
