The blade is crafted from folded Damascus steel (a combination of AISI 1095 and 1060), which excels in its strength and ability to hold a precise edge. Thanks to the differential hardening process, a real Choji hamon with visible grain structure (Hada and Martensite) has been created on the blade. The blade's surface is hand-polished with a hazuya stone to achieve a mirror finish and maximum profile refinement.
The design of this wakizashi is subordinate to functionality and balanced dignity. The black and white finish creates a balanced impression, appreciated by connoisseurs and casual observers alike. The specially designed Sori (1.9 cm) curvature and the shinogi-zukuri type tip are optimized for achieving clean and smooth cuts during tameshigiri practice on traditional Tatami mats.
The Full Tang design ensures that the blade passes through the entire handle, where it is secured with mekugi bamboo pins. The handle (Tsuka) has a wooden core covered with genuine ray skin (Samegawa) with contrasting white braid. The scabbard (Saya) is made of hardwood in a black glossy lacquer, with the Koiguchi and Kojiri parts being made of real black buffalo horn.
