The TSUNAMI wakizashi sword replica represents a top level of craftsmanship. The blade of this replica is hand-forged from T-10 carbon steel (1.1% carbon content), known for its high hardness and durability. Thanks to the monocomposite Maru configuration and differential clay tempering, the blade features a realistic Choji hamon, the result of a master smith's multi-day work.
The blade, in a non-grooved bo-hi finish, was hand-polished with a hazuya stone in the final stage, achieving a mirror finish and visually enhancing the steel structure. The Full Tang construction significantly increases the sword's strength and stability. The ko-kissaki tip features a defined Diamond-Shaped Yokote, crucial for the tip's structural integrity and helping absorb energy during handling.
The Sori (2.2 cm) curve and shinogi-zukuri blade type ensure fluidity in practicing traditional techniques. Each element of the koshirae was individually crafted to achieve maximum functionality and aesthetic harmony.
- Material: Carbon Steel T-10 (hardness approx. 58 HRC)
- Craftsmanship: Hand-forged blade, polished with polishing stones
- Surface Finish: Scabbard made of hardwood with Japanese glossy black lacquer
