    Replica of a samurai tanto dagger Flowers with a blade made of AISI 1045 carbon steel

    The forged blade made of AISI 1045 carbon steel features an aesthetic polished temper line imitation (hamon). This tanto knife can be used as a unique decoration, as well as for active training in Asian martial arts. Due to the nature of the steel and its lower hardness of 48 HRC, the item is not suitable for cutting harder materials, which could leave marks on the blade. The attractive blade, the red glossy decorated saya, and the handle (tsuka) form a harmonious whole that is highly sought after by collectors. The tanto is securely stored in a protective fabric pouch and a paper box.

    Tanto is a Japanese knife that a samurai wore together with a wakizashi and a katana in the daishō set. The geometry of the tanto knife with flat grinding was historically designed for strong penetration. This dagger could also be carried by common people for their defense, while longer swords were the privilege of the samurai caste. To this day, the tanto remains a symbol of devotion and traditional craftsmanship.

    • •Saya: (scabbard - sheath) made of hardwood in a red glossy finish with decorative leaf pattern. The high-quality silk wrap is threaded through the knob of the Scabbard (sheath).
    • •Tsuba: (guard) cast black brass
    • •Guard: cast brass
    • •Tsuka: (handle) wooden core wrapped in genuine stingray skin (Samegawa) with black Ito wrap. The dagger blade is secured by a single bamboo peg. You can detach the blade from the handle by removing this peg. On one side of the Handle, there is an ornament under the wrap. Handle end (Kashira) and Fuchi are decorated, black in color.
