Product detailed description
Collector's katana Tanikaze, AISI 1065 steel, nagasa 2.26 Shaku
The forged Tanikaze sword is a balanced combination of traditional aesthetics and practical elements for practicing Japanese sword arts. The blade made of AISI 1065 carbon steel is equipped with a Bo-Hi groove. This does not only serve to lighten the construction, but with a technically correct swing, it generates a specific whistle (the so-called "sword wind"), which serves as immediate feedback for the practitioner. The blade with a hardness of 52 HRC and a Chu-kissaki tip is secured in the handle by two bamboo pegs (Fulltang construction).

This model will find its use as a stylish decoration or for active practice of martial arts techniques. Due to the uniform hardness of the steel without partial hardening, it is not suitable for cutting hard objects that could damage the edge. The visual appearance of the sword is defined by a black matte scabbard (saya) with white speckling and a handle covered with genuine rayskin. The package includes a fabric protective bag.
