Product detailed description

Tanto Hagiya Katsuhira Japanese T-12 Mono-Steel

Real Choji Hamon – Masterpiece in Aikuchi Koshirae

Detailed hand-crafted replica of a tanto knife. Decorative elements are based on original designs by the famous Japanese master "Hagiya Katsuhira" from the Meiji period (late 19th century). Current replicas of these elements are individually handcrafted from brass and silver.

The luxurious Japanese Tantō with a high-carbon steel T-12 blade and a beautiful choji hamon line is the pinnacle of blacksmithing art. The richly decorated scabbard and handle with dragon and lion head motifs, in a combination of black, gold, and silver colors, give this piece an exclusive look. This unique item is ideal for collectors and lovers of traditional Japanese art. It serves as a prestigious artifact and a symbol of strength. All ornaments are handmade, and the saya features the highest quality Japanese shimmering lacquer.

Hagiya Katsuhira [萩谷勝平] (1804-1886)

Reasons for warranty denial - improper use
  • Intended for traditional techniques of cutting tests on special mats.
  • Unsuitable for cutting branches, trees, or bushes (use axes).
  • Avoid contact with other swords to prevent destructive damage to the blade.
  • Always keep the knife in its sheath (Saya) and do not handle it exposed in public.
  • After each use, clean and oil the blade; carbon steel is subject to oxidation.
  • Store in a dry place to prevent material corrosion.
