The blade is made of modern T-10 tool steel, highly valued for its durability and edge retention. Thanks to partial hardening using a traditional method, the edge features a real Choji-type hamon. The edge hardness (hasaki) reaches 58 HRC, while the spine of the blade remains tougher for optimal sword performance.
Blade in shinogi-zukuri profile with chu kissaki tip features a curvature designed for maximum cutting efficiency. This Full Tang replica is suitable not only as a dominant collector's item but also for active practice of traditional tameshigiri techniques (cutting tatami or bamboo).
Technical processing of components:
The Saya (scabbard) is made of hardwood with a unique dark honey gloss lacquer. The Koiguchi and Kojiri elements are crafted from genuine buffalo horn. The handle (Tsuka) has a wooden core wrapped in genuine stingray skin (Samegawa) with black cotton ito. The entire replica construction is secured by two bamboo pegs (mekugi).
