This fully functional replica features a hand-forged blade made from high-carbon T-10 steel (1.1% carbon). Thanks to differential hardening using the Maru method, the edge achieves a hardness of 58 HRC, ensuring excellent stability and long-lasting sharpness. The blade surface is hand-polished with a hazuya stone to a mirror finish (razor sharp).
A distinct real hamon was created using traditional master blacksmithing methods. The shinogi-zukuri blade type is finished with a chu kissaki tip featuring a true Diamond-Shaped Yokote. The Yokote is crucial for the structural integrity of the tip, as it helps absorb shock and disperse force during tameshigiri practice on tatami or bamboo.
The Full Tang construction, with the blade extending through the entire handle, guarantees strength and stability. The handle (Tsuka) and sheath (Saya) are handcrafted from magnolia wood and ground using Japanese techniques into an elegant hexagonal profile. The handle is securely fastened to the blade with a mekugi peg made from genuine buffalo horn. The overall appearance is complemented by a hand-engraved brass habaki.
