Kanetsune Karasu Japanese Tool with Paracord Grip
The robust Karasu blade with a handle wrapped in paracord is designed for demanding outdoor tasks and situations requiring maximum reliability. The blade is made of 15-layer Damascus Blue Steel #2, ensuring superior edge stability and mechanical resistance. The dark green paracord on the handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, even in adverse conditions.
A practical addition is the integrated pommel at the end of the handle, serving as a rescue element for emergency glass breaking. For safe carrying on the belt, a high-quality nylon sheath with a hardened polymer insert is used, reliably protecting the tool. The name Karasu translates from Japanese as "crow", referring to the elegant yet uncompromising character of this model.
The tools come from the workshop of Kanetsune - Kitasho Co., Ltd. in the city of Seki, which has been the world center of Japanese blacksmithing since 1964.

Principles of correct use:
Never wash the tool in the dishwasher.- After use, wash by hand, dry and treat with a mild oil.
- Do not use the blade as a pry bar or tool substitute.
- Protect from falling onto extremely hard surfaces.
Grinding and maintenance:
For edge restoration, we recommend water sharpening stones. We also offer individual sharpening services and professional courses. Improper sharpening can cause irreversible damage to the material.
Blade care:
Any stains on the damascus surface are not a material defect, but oxidation of adhering particles. For cleaning, we recommend a mixture of baking soda with water and a cork stopper.|
