Wenge wood (Millettia Laurentiis in Latin) is a very interesting tropical wood that looks great thanks to the alternation of dark brown and lighter tracheas, which give it a truly exceptional look and character. Another valued characteristic of this African wood is its resistance to abrasion, which makes it excellent for use on knife blades. Wenge is considered to be a durable wood and will last 40-50 years if untreated and partially exposed to the weather.
