Crafted Wakizashi Aikuchi Replica, Folded Steel AISI 1075, Nagasa 54.4 cm

This hand-forged wakizashi replica represents top-tier swordsmithing. The blade, made of folded steel AISI 1075, was folded 11 times during forging, creating a unique structure of 2048 layers (hada). An exceptional feature is the Naginata Naoshi Zukuri geometry, derived from halberd (naginata) blades adapted for sword use. In the final phase, the blade was hand-polished with a hazuya stone to achieve a precise edge. The distinctive Gunome Hamon line is formed by traditional methods of partial clay hardening.

This Aikuchi style wakizashi (without a guard) forms an ideal daishō pair with a matching uchigatana. The lighter and perfectly balanced blade has the characteristics of a beveled back oroshi mune , which is ideal for a clean cut during tameshigiri. The handle and scabbard are covered in genuine ray skin (Samegawa) with an elegant nuri zamé lacquered finish. The fittings are decorated with a kiku chrysanthemum motif and complemented by ivory sage braid.
