Product detailed description
Precise replica of the Kuro Hebi tanto with a real Choji hamon
The forged elegant Kuro Hebi tanto represents a top-notch combination of functionality and Japanese decorative art. The blade is made of high-quality T-10 carbon steel and, thanks to partial hardening, features an authentic Choji hamon. With a hardness of 58 HRC and a full-tang construction, this knife is ready for active practice of traditional cutting techniques. The dominant feature of the sword is the black glossy saya with a golden pattern resembling fine bubbles in lacquer, created in the traditional urushi style.
This Japanese knife was historically part of a samurai's armament in the daishō set, along with a wakizashi and a katana. The blade has a sori (curvature) optimized for precise cuts, allowing for effortless cutting of tatami mats or bamboo during tameshigiri tests.
