This Shirasaya katana replica is a masterpiece utilizing 11x folded high-carbon steel AISI 1075. The result of the forging process is 2048 layers, which give the blade its characteristic fine ripple (Hada) and excellent mechanical properties. The blade undergoes 14 processing stages, including final hand polishing with hazuya stone, achieving a mirror finish and exceptional sharpness.

The blade features a real Suguha hamon (straight hardening line), created using traditional differential hardening methods. The chu kissaki (medium point) is defined by the structurally important Diamond-Shaped Yokote, which helps absorb shock and ensures stability during tameshigiri (test cutting). The Full Tang construction guarantees maximum strength of the sword throughout its entire profile.

The Shirasaya set was historically intended for the careful storage of precious blades. This replica faithfully follows tradition – the handle and scabbard are handmade from magnolia wood and ground into an ergonomic hexagonal profile. The blade is secured in the handle by a mekugi peg made of buffalo horn. The minimalist design without a tsuba (hand guard) and ito (handle wrap) emphasizes the purity of form and the quality of the steel used.
