This hand-forged replica of the Uchigatana sword represents the pinnacle of swordsmithing art. The blade, made of folded steel AISI 1075, was folded 11 times during forging, creating a unique structure of 2048 layers (hada). The exceptional feature of this model is the Naginata Naoshi Zukuri geometry, inspired by the modification of halberd blades from the 14th century. In the final stage, the blade was polished with a hazuya stone to achieve extreme sharpness. The distinct Gunome Hamon line evokes the Mino tradition and is created using traditional differential hardening methods.
The Aikuchi design is characterized by the absence of a guard (tsuba), giving the sword an elegant and clean appearance. The handle (tsuka) and sheath (saya) are covered with genuine stingray skin (Samegawa) and finished with nuri zamé lacquer. The fittings are decorated with a kiku chrysanthemum motif, a symbol of long life. This sword is perfectly balanced and, thanks to the beveled spine oroshi mune, is designed for precise cutting tests tameshigiri.
