Product detailed description
Tachi-katana Murasaki Kumo – Purple Cloud
Murasaki Kumo (紫雲) evokes the power of nature and the renewal of life
The Murasaki Kumo Tachi-katana represents an exceptional combination of a traditional blade shape and a richly decorated style inspired by Japanese motifs. The clean lines and precise details of this replica reflect a masterful work that pays homage to the samurai spirit and culture.
T-10 steel blade – Minimalism and honor
The blade is forged from T-10 carbon steel , which is renowned for its ability to maintain an extremely sharp edge. The distinctive Suguha Hamon (straight line) symbolizes equanimity, honor, and purity of mind – key virtues of bushidō. The blade without a bo-hi groove was finally hand-polished with a hazuya stone , achieving a mirror-like shine and precise sharpness.
The Chūzori (中反り) style curvature with a 2.5 cm Sori is designed for clean cuts and easy cutting through tatami or bamboo during tameshigiri . The Full Tang construction ensures maximum strength of the entire piece.
Symbolism of Habaki and Tsuba
The double Habaki made of copper alloy carries a mon Maru-ni Shippo Hanabishi (a circle with a geometric leaf pattern), which ensures a firm fit in the scabbard. The dominant element is the brass Tsuba (guard) in the shape of a flower. The center is equipped with a brass ring (seppou), which creates an elegant contrast and ensures ideal balance for a firm grip.
Handle (Tsuka) and Scabbard (Saya)
The handle is covered with genuine ray skin (samegawa) and wrapped with purple cord in the hineri-makistyle. Brass black menuki in the shape of water chestnut leaves symbolize the seven treasures of Buddhism and complete the harmony of the entire sword. The scabbard (saya) is decorated with matte roughened black lacquer with metal ornaments nansayathat emphasize the Tachi style.

The tip of the blade is shaped in the shinogi-zukuri style with medium chu kissaki and a true Diamond-Shaped Yokote. Real Suguha Hamon runs smoothly through the Boshi to the tip.
