This sharpened Kuro Take replica represents an exceptional fusion of functionality and traditional aesthetics. The Shinogi-zukuri type blade is forged from folded AISI 1075 steel. During forging, the steel was folded 11 times, creating 2048 layers that ensure optimal flexibility and a unique grain texture on the blade's surface. The manufacturing process involves 14 stages, including manual grinding, resulting in a blade with a real Choji hamon line and a hardness of 52 HRC.
The Chu-kissaki blade tip features a clearly defined Diamond Shaped Yokote, which flows seamlessly into the hamon. The Full Tang construction and sori (curvature) are optimized for precise cuts during tameshigiri practice on tatami or bamboo. The Shira saya finish, with a handle and scabbard in a black bamboo design, gives this replica a minimalist yet very impressive look.
