Product detailed description

Katana Gorudo carbon steel blade AISI 1065

.

Forged Japanese Gorudo sword with real Choji hamon and Bo-Hi groove. The distinctive real Choji hamon is formed according to ancient traditional methods based on the master blacksmith's many years of experience. High quality components are used, including top quality sayu lacquer and real stingray leather of the highest quality. This is a replica of a samurai sword that is suitable for sake trials and can be disassembled into individual parts. This blade has been tried and tested to remove everything in its path ! The Sori (curvature of the blade) is specially designed to achieve the finest and cleanest cuts possible. All this combined with the choice of traditional oshirae ensures that you get the best in terms of appearance and functionality. The AISI 1065 carbon steel has an impressive hardness - the perfect combination of this hardness is accentuated by the curvature of the Sori blade, which makes it easy to cut through tatami, straw mats, or bamboo for tameshigiri. The full tang construction of this katana greatly increases the sword's power. The blade is of the shinogi-zukuri type, this type of blade has been produced since the 10th century AD. The tip of the sword o kissaki with a true Diamond-Shaped Yokote, which is very well defined by the hamon running the entire length through the Boshi. The Yokote is very important to the structural integrity of the sword tip. It helps absorb shock, dissipates force, and contributes to the stability and strength of the sword during the so-called follow-through. This katana (samurai sword) is suitable for practical use, but Dellinger disclaims any liability for injury or damage resulting from use. Keep out of reach of children ! Any handling of the samurai sword is your own responsibility. Remember that you have a deadly weapon in your hands !

.

Kforged blade made of steel AISI 1065 of the highest quality. The blade is in Maru configuration, i.e. forged from one compact bar of steel. AISI 1065 carbon steel is a very popular steel used in the manufacture of katana, sword and knife blades. The production of this blade goes through several processes of polishing and sharpening the surface of the blade shows a high gloss.

.

Gutter Bo-Hi brings lightness to the katana and is responsible for the impressive sound even with a light swing of the katana or wakizashi. This sound is called "Tachi-Kaze" (the sound of the wind of the sword) in Japanese. How loud you hear the sound will depend on the speed and proper technique of the cut. Swords with the Bo-Hi groove are often used by martial arts students because they know immediately which of their slashes were good and which need to be improved. This groove is often called the "blood groove", although its purpose has nothing to do with blood. Combined with proper groove tapering, the blade can be 20 to 30% lighter than a blade without a groove without significant loss of strength and stability. The groove usually tapers together with the tapering blade. The production of a Bo-Hi groove blade is a bit easier than a classic full blade. A sword without a groove has higher strength and resistance to damage. The finest swords are usually without this groove. Swords of the highest quality are usually without a groove

.

The groove on the blade brings with it lightness, an attractive sound even at a weak swing and, moreover, the production of a blade with a groove is less demanding and so the sword can have a more attractive price. On the other hand, a sword without a groove is overall stronger, more durable, and for some, even nicer. Swords of the highest quality are usually without a groove.
